Sky Sport Italia release more clips from Romelu Lukaku’s interview, in which the Chelsea striker ‘has to be honest’ when comparing Antonio Conte’s Inter to the current side under Simone Inzaghi.

The Belgium international’s interview was reportedly recorded three weeks ago in London, but the Italian satellite channel is releasing clips a bit at a time before the special airs in full on December 31.

After his remarkable incendiary comments about being unhappy at Chelsea and hoping he will play for Inter again, Lukaku was asked about the current squad under Inzaghi.

Lukaku expresses Chelsea regrets and Inter reunion hopes

“I don’t like to make comparisons between the two teams,” he replied.

“Having said that, I have to be honest: the team now is playing really good football and is top of the Serie A table.

“I really hope they will win the Scudetto again, as I love everyone there and it is also thanks to them that I became the player I am now.

“Inter and its fans, for me, deserve to be at the top. I hope the club continues to grow, that they keep winning after the Christmas break, but you never know what might happen in football.”

Inzaghi had to rebuild without Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi, but has actually done better so far this season than Conte at this stage last term.

Not only has he taken them to the Champions League Round of 16, they are also top of the table at the midway stage, compared to second last year.

Meanwhile, the players are all praising Inzaghi for giving them more ‘freedom’ tactically on the pitch than Conte, for a more attacking style of football and not just using Lukaku to hold up the ball.
