Lukaku explains special relationship with Conte

During his journey down to Naples, Lukaku explained why he is so excited to work with Conte again. The pair last worked together at Inter, which resulted in a Scudetto win and 24 league goals for the Belgian.

“I have a history with him that started many years ago. He wanted a big guy for nine or ten years, but we never got the opportunity to work together. Then we had the opportunity a couple of years ago.

“I think he has brought me to another level in terms of football, but also mentally.”

The 31-year-old added that he has one specific photo that is particularly close to his heart.

“The nicest thing is a picture I have with him when we won the Scudetto. That, for me, is the nicest thing to come from our journey together.”
