Romelu Lukaku was unhappy with Nicolò Barella’s attitude against Sampdoria and according to Il Corriere dello Sport, most Inter players agree with the striker.
The two Nerazzurri stars argued in the first half of a 0-0 draw against Sampdoria at Marassi on Monday night.
The Chelsea loanee even insulted his teammate and told him ‘Don’t do it again.’ What was he referring to?
According to several reports in Italy, Lukaku was unhappy with Barella’s attitude, given that the Italian midfielder often vents his frustration at teammates rather than supporting them, especially when they make mistakes.
It’s a problem that already emerged earlier this season but seemed to have vanished before Inter’s Champions League matches against Barcelona at the end of 2022.
As highlighted by Il Corriere dello Sport, Barella has continued complaining with his teammates over the last few matches, leading to Lukaku’s reaction.
The Rome-based paper reports that most Inter players side with the Chelsea loanee, but Simone Inzaghi has already warned that he does not want to see similar incidents again in the future.
For once the football word is united in agreeing with Lukaku. One of my peeves of the modern game is the gesturing and sulking when things don’t go your way. Well done Rom.
