Lukaku, Ronaldo and Conte win Serie A awards for 2020-21

The Association of Italian Footballers (AIC) has given the awards for the 2020-21 campaign in Serie A with Romelu Lukaku named the best player of the season, while Antonio Conte was the best coach.

Both Conte and Lukaku left Inter in the summer after winning the first Serie A title in 11 years.

The Nerazzurri collected 91 points in 38 matches, losing just three games and winning 28. Lukaku scored 24 goals in 36 league games before returning to Chelsea in a €115m move in the summer.

Inter were named the best club of the year, while Daniele Orsato was the best referee in 2020-21 and Samuele Ricci, now at Torino, was the best young Serie B player during the last campaign. His former club Empoli earned Serie A promotion last term.

Lukaku is not the only former Serie A star awarded by AIC. Gigio Donnarumma was included in the Top XI for 2020-21 and the same goes for Achraf Hakimi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who was the best scorer in Serie A last season with 29 goals.
