Inter forward Romelu Lukaku surpassed Alan Shearer’s consecutive scoring streak in the Europa League and can become the highest scoring Belgian in the competition against Shakhtar Donetsk.
Lukaku has found the net in his last nine appearances in the Europa League and has scored 12 goals in the process, taking his total tally to 17 in the competition.
Against Leverkusen, Lukaku matched his compatriot Erwin Vandenbergh, who scored 17 goals across spells at Lierse, Anderlecth and KAA Gent.

The 27-year-old has scored four times for Inter in his four Europa League games so far, following eight in nine Everton matches in 2014-15.
Before moving to Chelsea in August 2011, the Belgium international had already scored five goals for Anderlecht in the competition and by the end of the competition this month, he could be alone at the top and the highest scoring Belgian in the Europa League.
On Monday, Inter face Shakhtar in the semi-finals, and Lukaku is again expected to start the semi-final against the Ukrainians.
