The importance of today’s decisive meeting over Romelu Lukaku is made clear by the fact his agent is going to attend, along with Chelsea and Napoli directors.

The encounter is expected to give the all-clear for his long-awaited transfer to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, where he will reunite with former Inter coach Antonio Conte.

Sky Sport Italia report that the meeting is planned for late this afternoon in London and more details are starting to emerge.

The most intriguing is that Lukaku’s agent will be present at the meeting, along with Napoli director Giovanni Manna and Chelsea representatives.

Lukaku all set for Napoli

Napoli are expected to end up paying €30m including bonuses, but the format of the transfer is up for debate, whether it is a loan with obligation to buy or a move that is paid in a series of instalments.

The Belgium international played 95 games under Conte at Inter, scoring 64 goals and providing 16 assists, winning the Serie A title in 2021.

He spent last season on loan at Roma, and the year before that at Inter, confessing within weeks that his €113m move to Chelsea had been a mistake in August 2021.
