Italy have lost another player ahead of the friendly with Turkey, as Lazio defender Luiz Felipe Ramos has pulled out through injury.

The Nazionale lost the World Cup play-off with North Macedonia, while Turkey were defeated 3-1 by Portugal after missing a penalty that would’ve made it 2-2.

Those two losing sides will face off in Konya on Tuesday evening in a game nobody is looking forward to.

Roberto Mancini has already released six players from the squad, sending Marco Verratti, Lorenzo Insigne, Ciro Immobile, Domenico Berardi, Gianluca Mancini and Jorginho back to their clubs early.

Now Lazio defender Luiz Felipe has also been released, as tests showed an injury for the Brazil-born centre-back.

This was his first call-up to the Italy squad and he did not play against North Macedonia, so is still waiting for his Azzurri debut.

The squad will have another training session tomorrow morning before travelling to Turkey in the afternoon.

  1. Didn’t play and already Injured? Can somebody please look into the training methods, intensity and players health in general ? Its not just an issue for the Nationale, the whole Serie A is full of injured players. Did Covid weaken the players or players suddenly facing Tifosi this season created a mental issue which has affected their confidence and hence getting injured more… ACL aside too many muscle injuries !

  2. Why is he even in the squad? Look at our list of defenders. What a disgrace. We talk about not having any attacking players, besides Bastoni, Biraghi and the two usual CB’s that list is the whose who of hasbeens and flogs. Where is Calabria?

  3. Hardly knew him…

As for all injuries, there is definitely something to it.

Aaron Ramsey’s comments about 5 Months ago. Now the recent ones by Kulusevski.

  4. Azzuro You either read my min or we were synchronized in a non yippy yah yeah way.
Andy If the pitches are bad ?Roma) well then let’s fix this.

  5. Why do we have so many non Italian born players on the team. Over 60M in population and we can’t find players. Get rid of this crap.

  6. @cos Perrone
I mean it’s not even ‘non Italian’ born. These players have absolutely no link to Italy at all.
It’s one thing being born somewhere else to atleast 1 Italian parent but to simply fly em in because they couldn’t make it in their prefered national team is just ludicrous!
I said years ago we were head for international transfer deadlines. I think this is the beginning.
