The Spanish midfielder gave an interview to Marca in which he touched upon his hopes for the future and his current role at Lazio.

“We are in a very good moment, we want to continue like this to stay towards the top of the table.

“It’s still too early to talk about the Scudetto, we go step by step. Talking about the league now only distracts us.

“Being in the fight would be a dream come true,” he told Marca.

Luis Alberto is having a remarkable season, with 12 assists already in Serie A, and explains that coach Simone Inzaghi wanted more from him.

“He has given me more freedom and space this season, he wants me to be more of a protagonist and for now I am doing well and so are the team.

“It’s only this year that I am playing at a very high level, I have taken more shots, I feel very good and I am taking on more responsibility.

“The secret of making assists is many hours of training and the feeling you get with your teammates. The head plays a very important role also in keeping your nerves steady and being able to clearly see where you must put the ball in a game.

“I hope to continue like this. I would like to go to the European Championships with Spain, but it’s not up to me.”
