Luis Alberto admits he held talks with La Liga side Cadiz but insists Lazio won’t sell him in January.

“I have a great rapport with the coach and the sporting director and after the break, I clarified my position with the coach,” the ex-Liverpool midfielder told DAZN.

“We are not best friends, but we have a normal rapport. We’ll see- My desire is to end my career in Spain. I spoke to Cadiz because they are the team of my heart. The President is a friend of mine, the director is my brother.

“I have two and a half years at Lazio, and I was told that my sale is impossible at the moment. Until I am here, I’ll give my best for Lazio.”

The Spanish midfielder has four goals and three assists in 19 appearances across all competitions this season.

He joined the Biancocelesti in a €4m deal from Liverpool in 2016 and has scored 44 goals in 237 appearances with the Biancocelesti.
