“I feel that I am appreciated at Lazio. It was difficult for me leaving Spain, but I feel that the club and my teammates are very supportive and I feel at ease here,” he told Spanish radio El Transistor.

“Going to Euro 2020 with Spain is my objective, obviously. I want to be part of that squad and will give my all to achieve that, but the choice is not up to me.”

Luis Alberto has repeatedly been linked with a return to La Liga for Sevilla.

“We were never close to saying goodbye over the summer, as neither I, nor Lazio were eager to interrupt this rapport. I still have two years on my contract with Lazio and I just want to enjoy the moment, then we’ll see what happens in future.

“It’s ultimately up to the club to decide if they want me to stay or go.”
