Luis Alberto has reportedly apologised to his Lazio teammates and has now resumed training with the rest of the first-team squad at their training camp in Spain.

On Wednesday, the Spaniard failed to report for training amidst a brief dispute over his contract situation. He is currently tied to Lazio until the summer of 2025, but is due to be handed an extension until 2027 with an increase in wages.

However, there had reportedly been a disagreement over a potential signing on bonus, thought to be at a figure of €140,000.

After his decision not to turn up to training, Luis Alberto was left out of the travelling squad who flew to England to play Aston Villa in a pre-season friendly on Thursday evening.

However, the 30-year-old is now set to sign a new deal based on the agreement that was decided upon a few months ago according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Lazio squad flew to Spain from the UK to continue their preparations for the new season and were met by Luis Alberto. La Gazzetta dello Sport report that he has apologised for the disruption he caused earlier in the week.

  1. I’m glad it didn’t take long for this to get sorted and it’s another proof the media exaggerated it.

Lazio need to counteract false reporting, this has been a problem for some time now.
