Lazio aim to bounce back with a win against Genoa and Maurizio Sarri received a boost in training today, with Luis Alberto and Mattia Zaccagni back in action.

The coach confronted the team after the 2-1 defeat to Sassuolo last time, as President Claudio Lotito was not happy with another setback.

Lazio training cancelled; Sarri confronts the players without Lotito

Sarri’s men, who are preparing to face FC Porto in the Europa League play-offs in February, are currently ninth in Serie A after 17 games.

Yesterday, the coach reportedly cancelled training to have a meeting with the Biancocelesti players, but the squad returned to the ground today and there was some good news for Sarri.

Luis Alberto, who missed the away match in Reggio-Emilia, joined the rest of the group, and the same goes for Zaccagni.

But Pedro Rodriguez, who was substituted during the match at the Mapei Stadium, was not ready to train.

Lazio have two more games before the winter break, with Genoa at home on December 17 and Venezia away on December 22.
