Luis Alberto and Alessio Romagnoli trolled Roma and José Mourinho after Lazio beat the Giallorossi in the Derby della Capitale.

Mattia Zaccagni’s goal in the second half allowed the Biancocelesti to win their second derby this season. It was a very tense game at the Stadio Olimpico, with two Roma players sent off – Bryan Cristante and Roger Ibanez – plus Adam Marusic for Lazio.

Mourinho was already serving the second of a two-match ban, but his assistant Nuno Santos was sent off in the first half and the same is true of Lazio’s staff member Marco Ianni.

Asked by DAZN about the tension during the match, Luis Alberto said: “When there is so much talking before a match after, you should remain quiet. Roma didn’t play the derby, they only came here to provoke. It happens all the time. They talk too much and then they feel fuc***. We were good. It was the right moment to take a step forward. Now I’ll celebrate with my family.”

Romagnoli, who was praised by Sarri after the match, also taunted Roma in an interview with Lazio’s official website.

“I’ve been dreaming of a debut like this in a derby. There won’t be a third derby this season, right?

“We know how they play, but we were better than them. It was important to win and the clean sheet makes the victory even more special.”

Lazio currently sit second in the Sere A table, five points clear of their city rivals in fifth position. Romagnoli will now join Roberto Mancini’s Italy for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifying fixtures against England and Malta.
