There were many reports emanating from Germany this week claiming Lucio was looking for a comeback to the Allianz Arena.

“I never said I wanted to come back to playing for Bayern Munich,” insisted the Brazilian on the official Inter website.

“I just said that in football everything is possible, so if in future Inter aren't interested in me any more, but Bayern are, then I could even consider returning to Germany.”

However, he wasn't entirely confident of staying at San Siro long-term either.

“Right now I am a player at this team, my family are happy in Milan and I have no reason to leave.

“If it was up to me, then I'd stay, but I am aware as with all football players that it doesn't just depend on me. After all, it wasn't my decision to leave Bayern.

“My heart is here, with Inter, but clearly whether I stay here or not does not depend purely on my decision.”

Inter are the reigning World and European champions and wait to see who they'll face in the Champions League quarter-final.

“We are the best, but that doesn't take away the fact we still have to work and believe, as we did against Bayern. After the draw we'll prepare for our opponents, but cannot say anyone will be a better or worse draw than the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.”
