Lucio’s torn ankle ligament at first seemed set to keep him out for four months, but new reports suggest the Juventus defender could get away with a six-week stop.

The Brazilian sprained his right ankle in training on Friday and the official club website confirmed “the X-ray and MRI scans have revealed a complete tear of the defender’s anterior talofibular ligament.”

At first it was feared this could mean three to four months on the sidelines, which would force Juve to go back on to the market to find a replacement.

However, according to Sky Sport Italia this afternoon, this type of injury may well require only six weeks out of action.
