Former Inter boss Mircea Lucescu has sent a message of condolence to Javier Zanetti, insisting that the captain can 'come back' from his injury.
The Nerazzurri legend snapped his Achilles tendon in Sunday's 1-0 loss to Palermo, and the Shakhtar Donetsk boss, who coached Zanetti at San Siro during the 1998/99 season, has claimed that the veteran will play again.
“Zanetti is an extraordinary champion,” he told reporters. “A true great. He is not just a great player, but a great man.
“He was the one who helped me more than anyone when I was at Inter.
“I have no doubt that he can come back from this.
“There is a risk, but I sure hope he can come back.”
