Coach Mircea Lucescu felt Dynamo Kiev ‘deserved to score’ against Juventus and said the matches against the Old Lady will help his team develop.

Alvaro Morata scored a brace to hand the Bianconeri a 2-0 win in Kiev last night, but Lucescu believes two mistakes from his ‘young players’ helped Andrea Pirlo’s men pick up the three points.

But the veteran coach said the games against tough opponents in the Champions League are ‘excellent’ tests to help the team ‘grow’.

“The main positive aspect of my team is the entry into the Champions League,” Lucescu said at a press conference. “The matches against Juventus and Barcelona are already excellent for our growth.

“We have a team full of young people. The mistake in the first minute of the second half was very annoying.

“A goal conceded when the ball bounced, and we didn’t read it correctly. We learn, we gain experience.

“For the second goal we made another mistake. However, we have shown that we can play on equal terms. The lads deserved to score tonight but it didn’t happen.”
