PSG midfielder Lucas Hernandez admits ‘of course’ his little brother Theo and Milan will be out for revenge in the Champions League. ‘It wasn’t easy for him.’

It kicks off tonight at 20.00 GMT at San Siro after the 3-0 result at Parc des Princes on October 25.

That was the first time ever that these two brothers, who are teammates for France, faced off as opponents at club level.

Considering the 3-0 result, will there be extra spice to this reverse fixture?

“Of course Theo wants revenge! There was a little ribbing afterwards, but it was all good-natured,” Lucas Hernandez told Le Parisien.

“There were strong emotions, especially for our family who were at the stadium. That was a unique moment for us, the first time we were up against each other.

“Once you are on the field, you forget that you are brothers. It was just a little odd before the match, when we talked a little in the tunnel.”

Unusually, especially considering there was another game coming up, the pair of siblings discussed the match in-depth afterwards.

“We talked about everything, the chances, the way both teams played. It wasn’t easy for him, because defeat is never easy. There was not much time afterwards, as he had to fly back to Milan, but enough to see our grandparents, our mother and our uncle. Plus, of course, each other.”

Theo Hernandez missed the weekend’s surprise 1-0 Serie A home defeat to Udinese with a bruised ankle, but is expected to start this evening at left-back.

Lucas Hernandez plays in a midfield role for PSG, although both teams tend to be set out in a 4-3-3 formation.
