Director Alessandro Lucarelli reveals Parma ‘had an agreement’ with Atalanta over Amad Traore, before La Dea sold the youngster to Manchester United.

The starlet seemed set for a move to the Gialloblu on transfer deadline day, but the Premier League giants snatched him up under their noses.

Lucarelli was not happy with the situation but said Parma have ‘covered’ themselves with other deals.

The Crociati picked up players like Valentin Mihaila, Wylan Cyprien and Hans Nicolussi Caviglia on deadline day and Lucarelli said the new owners wanted young players to arrive at the Ennio Tardini.

“We worked according to the dictates of the new club, we tried to buy many young players who will be able to give us a hand,” Lucarelli told Sky Sport Italia.

“We already had a proven squad, which is strengthened by many interesting young players.

“You must ask Atalanta about Diallo, we had the agreement and then the negotiation with Manchester United started and they sold him.

“We covered ourselves with other players and we will make up for it, but he would have been useful.”
