Captain Alessandro Lucarelli says Parma's situation is a 'disgusting farce', whilst mayor Federico Pizzarotti accuses President Giampietro Manenti.

Parma’s situation took a new turn after Manenti was arrested this morning. Interviewed by La Repubblica at the gates of Collecchio, Lucarelli did not mince words.

“I am bitter, there's a desire to shut everything down,” he said.

“This has turned into a disgusting farce. It's been hard to take to the pitch for some time now, and we're still taking blows,” said Lucarelli, in reference to the team's results as well as to events off the pitch.

In the meantime, mayor Pizzarotti left a comment on the President's arrest on his Twitter profile.

“I said it from the beginning: at Parma there is no space for the crooks,” reads his tweet.

“Keep the jackals off the Parmigiani, the citizens and our team.”
