Napoli forward Hirving Lozano said he 'would like to play for Barcelona' in the future and admitted his first season with the Azzuri ‘was a hard year’.
Lozano moved to the San Paolo from PSV Eindhoven in August 2019 and after a tough start to life in Naples, the attacker has contributed four goals in six Serie A games this term.
The Mexico international initially struggled to convince Gattuso, but revealed he now has ‘understood how to relate to him’.
“He is very direct,” Lozano told TV Azteca Deportes. “He has his own way of being and when he gets angry, he becomes an ogre.
“But he is undoubtedly a good person. After last the experience last year, I think I have understood how to relate to him. We must learn as much as possible from him.”
But Lozano admitted he struggled in his first season with the Partenopei and revealed he asked his wife why they had moved to Naples.
“It was a very hard year. I don’t hide the fact that I asked my wife many times: ‘What are we doing here?’,” he added.
“Thanks to her and to God, we were able to overcome the difficulties. It was tough for my daughter too, not knowing the language.
“In the future, we will remember this as an obstacle to overcome. Talking to Gattuso has changed a lot.
“Last year, I learned a lot from my teammates and now I feel like a more mature and complete player.”
The 25-year-old admitted he would like to play for Barcelona and said he doesn’t know what will happen in the future.
“Since I was at PSV, I wanted to measure myself in a more important League,” he said. “Italian football is difficult, but I like it.
“For the future, you never know what will happen. There are many clubs where I would like to play, for example Barcelona.”
