There was an incident that spoilt the Scudetto party at the Stadio Maradona, as Napoli star Chucky Lozano was carried off with what appears to be a serious knee injury.
The Mexico international was in the starting XI against Fiorentina this evening, the first game since the Partenopei secured the Serie A title.
Just before half-time, Lozano was in a simple challenge with Sofyan Amrabat and his knee moved in an odd way as he tried to spin away.
It immediately seemed quite serious and moments later Lozano was carried off the pitch by two members of the fitness staff.
According to DAZN pitch-side reporters, the initial concern is that Lozano said he felt the knee move out of joint.
This would suggest potential ligament damage rather than just a sprain.
Tests will be needed and it is a blow to the Scudetto celebrations for the Champions of Italy, not to mention raising questions over the future of the 27-year-old.
His contract only runs to June 2024 and he is widely expected to move on this summer.
