Hirving Lozano clarifies he is happy at Napoli after saying he’d love to play at a bigger club.

The Mexico winger shared an Instagram post to clarify his recent claims regarding a possible move from the Stadio Maradona.

“The truth is, I would love to play at a bigger club. I consider myself a very competitive player, with clear goals,” Lozano told TV Azteca Deportes on Wednesday.

“Sometimes my words can be taken from the real context and someone with a different desire than to give the correct interpretation, whether they like it or not, misinterpret them,” Lozano wrote in an Instagram post published on Thursday morning.

“It is not my intention to clarify or retract something I did not say. I am more interested in the fact that the facts speak for themselves.

“I live in Naples, my children grow up, learn and make friends in Naples. My wife’s friends are Neapolitans, my neighbours and friends are Neapolitans. Lately, I have lived the most beautiful moments of my life in Naples.

“I owe it to the fans of Napoli and I find in their fidelity enough reason to leave my soul, life and heart on the pitch every time I wear the jersey of Napoli.

“I’m playing for Napoli today and I’m hoping to do it for a long time. I’m not doing it simply because it’s a football team, but because Naples is where I live, where I am happy and where my family and home are, so I will defend it at all costs.”

  1. Unfortunately until we win something in this century we’re still not considered a “big club”.. Napoli is a stepping stone to big clubs. But the difference between us and other clubs is we do have the ability to win. And we will. And then we’ll be seen as a big club. Soon boys.
