Lazio President Claudio Lotito explained Joaquin Correa didn’t fit in Maurizio Sarri’s system and said ‘no one is indispensable’ when asked about Simone Inzaghi’s departure.

The former Biancocelesti coach moved to Inter ahead of 2021-22, replacing Antonio Conte at the reigning champions.

Joaquin Correa followed the coach to the Nerazzurri and scored a brace in his debut, but Lotito explained there was a reason why the Argentine left the Olimpico.

“He’s a good player, but he could no longer play with us because he didn’t adapt to that type of tactical set-up,” Lotito said, according to TMW.

“The quality of the players has nothing to do with it, we need to understand if these players we have kept have the ability to adapt to that type of formation.

“It seems to me that they are demonstrating it. Then the great experience of the coach, a football maestro, will lead to an expression of the potential of the individual players.”

Lotito also spoke about Inzaghi’s farewell, as the former coach decided against renewing with the club and move to the Serie A rivals.

“In life, you reap what you sow,” Lotito continued. “I take not of the decisions of others, but I don’t make a drama out of it.

“We are all useful and no one is indispensable. He will continue to be a coach and I continue as a President. In the end, we will see who stays in the system longer.”

  1. What a bitter man! Lotito only offered an “improved” renewal when he figured out Inzaghi was already in talk with Inter! Where the hell he was before that? He waited until last moment to improve his contract, because he was so sure nobody would take Inzaghi in… And Inzaghi was a player, now a coach, he is part football and he will remembered. Lotito? Let’s see who is gonna talk about you in far future.

  2. I don’t get the comments about him being so bitter, I think he actually conducted himself alright after Simone left and replaced him with a better footballing coach .
