Claudio Lotito has praised Miroslav Klose's match-winning goal for expelling what he believed was a growing anxiety in last night's Rome derby.

The German striker cropped up in the final seconds of stoppage time to side-foot the winning goal for Lazio against Roma.

The 33-year-old forward's fourth League goal of the season earned not only Edy Reja's first derby win as Lazio Coach but also Lotito fifth since taking over at the Olimpico as President.

Lotito believed the goal's timing was crucial, not only to secure the win, but to lift the pressure from the team for the previous missed chances in the game.

"On the field we saw a clear superiority. We created many chances but were probably in a state of discouragement for having failed to convert them, before Klose's goal immediately expelled that."

Klose hinted today that he will retire at the end of the 2013-14 campaign.

"I'd like to see him continue for another three years at this level. He is a fantastic player, a true professional. He could have gone to Milan but fortunately he did not."

The Aquile President also repeated his words of faith from yesterday for Coach Edy Reja.

"I always believed in him, something I also showed a month ago when I rejected his resignation. He is the right Coach for Lazio he has the right energy and experience. Yesterday's victory [also] makes up for the many injustices.

"The Scudetto? We do not make flights of fancy, we do not want to risk the boomerang effect."
