Lazio President Claudio Lotito again criticised the Italy medical staff over Ciro Immobile’s injury, while extending Maurizio Sarri’s contract is ‘natural.’

The patron, who is running for a Senate seat in Italy, spoke to reporters at a press event ahead of Saturday’s Serie A clash with Juventus.

It is increasingly unlikely that star striker Immobile will participate, as he left international duty with a calf injury.

“It seems pretty evident that if the medical approach had been the one used by Lazio, we probably would have a completely different situation right now,” said Lotito.

“I want to see a Lazio side that is determined and combative. I hope the team can show all its strength and quality in this match.”

Despite only signing former Juventus coach Sarri in the summer, Lotito is already in negotiations to extend his contract even more.

“I have a good rapport with Sarri, we communicate every day and want to continue this journey together.

“Whatever happens next will be an entirely natural progress, without concerns.”
