Lazio have five players they cannot register yet, so until Joaquin Correa is sold, it’s reported President Claudio Lotito could loan the club money to fund transfers.

While Felipe Anderson, Elseid Hysaj, Stefan Radu, Luka Romero and Dimitrije Kamenovic are all in training with coach Maurizio Sarri, they have not been formally registered as Biancocelesti players yet.

According to the Corriere di Roma newspaper, that’s because the club has a lack of funds and cannot afford to sign them onto contracts yet.

They had been hoping to fund their transfer campaign by selling Correa for €40m, but that has proved more difficult than expected, with Inter and PSG not ready to reach that figure.

The situation is in stasis and the Serie A season kicks off on August 21, so time is running out.

The Corriere di Roma claims the solution could be for President Lotito to loan Lazio money rather than raising the capital, therefore ensuring he will be repaid.

That might be the only way to give Sarri a squad going into the new campaign, unless someone raises their bid for Correa.
