Claudio Lotito wants to see Lazio “play with the same determination and sporting ferocity” against Inter in this week’s Scudetto showdown.

The Biancocelesti are now in third place, just one point behind joint Serie A leaders Inter and Juventus, but host the Nerazzurri at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday evening.

“I hope that on Sunday against Inter we will see Lazio play with the same determination and sporting ferocity that has so far characterised our season and allowed us to bring home these results,” Lotito told news agency Ansa.

“I hope that on Sunday against Inter we will see Lazio play with the same determination and sporting ferocity that has so far characterised our season and allowed us to bring home these results,” Lotito told news agency Ansa.

Lazio are unbeaten in 18 rounds, a new all-time club record, and could even go top of the table, as Juventus are slipping.

“I don’t believe that a team like Juventus could be in crisis,” argued Lotito. “Anyone can fail to achieve their objective in a game or two, but Juve are of such a high level, I expect the race to be open to the end.”

The Lazio President also hit out at Parma following protests over a Francesco Acerbi shirt-tug on Andreas Cornelius during the 1-0 result.

“I have never expressed my opinion on the referees, as it is unhelpful and pointless. I do believe Lazio deserved their victory and all the interpretations made afterwards are entirely without foundation.”
