Claudio Lotito opened up about his interaction with Jose Mourinho as a scuffle occurred between Lazio and Roma following the Derby della Capitale.

The Biancocelesti edged out a 1-0 win over their inter-city rivals in the ever-heated derby, and the drama continued after the full time whistle.

Reports suggested that the scuffle started after Lazio’s Alessio Romagnoli celebrated in front of the Roma dressing room, prompting an angry response from the Giallorossi.

Mourinho, who was allowed to visit the dressing room following his two-game ban, reportedly asked Lotito what he was looking at as he separated the scuffling players, prompting the Lazio president to ask who the Portuguese coach was.

Speaking to Radio 1, Lotito looked back at Lazio’s derby win and explained his clash with Mourinho after the full time whistle.

“I celebrated the derby like any other moment, matches are won and lost, but there is great satisfaction from the team and support from the fans.

“I am all for respect. I didn’t utter words, I saw a scuffle between one of my players and a Roma player. One thing did not go down well with me, that there was the Roma player completely naked in the corridor.

“I stopped and Mourinho shouted at me ‘what are you looking at?’, I thought he hadn’t understood that I was the president of Lazio and I pointed it out to him, he went on.

“I never told him he couldn’t be there, only who I was. We didn’t argue because I don’t argue with anyone, it’s a problem of roles that have to be respected.

“The match was Lazio v Roma, Roma were guests. It’s as if a guest arrives at your house and behaves in a certain way.”

The result of the derby means more than just three points as both teams desperately fight to secure a top four finish and Champions League qualification.
