The Rondinelle had taken a 2-0 lead early on, but a very controversial penalty allowed the visitors back into the game.

“I don’t think I even need to comment,” Lopez told Sky Sport Italia.

“The problem is that it was very clear straight away what had happened. It wasn’t a penalty, but an error from the referee. The fact there’s VAR and they still give that penalty, then that’s two mistakes.

“We are trying to get back into the running here and it was very important for us to win today.”

It had seemed to be a clash of heads between two players, but the referee gave a penalty for a nudge in the back instead.
