Brescia coach Diego Lopez says the Coronavirus situation is “complex” and that playing behind closed doors is a “surreal” experience.

The Rondinelle take on Sassuolo tomorrow in their rearranged game from last weekend, with kick off at 17:30 GMT, and Lopez believes that the situation surrounding the Coronavirus is complex.

“I think it’s a difficult situation not only for the players, but also for us. This is true, but the rule of the state is difficult to maintain on the pitch,” said Lopez in a pre-game interview.

“Ours is a contact sport, I don’t think that their ruling can be respected. We will go to the stadium tomorrow and we’ll take tests before playing.”

Brescia is located in the Lombard region, which is the most affected region throughout Italy, so is Lopez worried about the Coronavirus?

“More than fear I would say respect it, there has already been so many victims. We must listen to what the doctors tell us, and above all the state.

“We must remain on high alert as we can all catch the cirus. We need to be careful.”

Lopez says that due to games being held behind closed doors, it’s difficult to prepare his side.

“When in charge of Cagliari I experienced playing behind closed doors, it’s not simple. It’s a surreal environment where everything is difficult.

“It feels like a friendly match. During the game you have to cheer more, and talk more. You have to pay more attention.”

Lopez says he wants to see a much more attacking Brescia team.

“I’m building a team to get points, in order to do that you have to do well in both phases of the pitch.

“You have to be diligent, prepare well in the attacking and defensive phases, and take care of the details.

“This is the way to go.”
