“We can be up against Inter or Juventus, it makes no difference to us at this stage. We need a result and that’s all there is to it,” said Lopez in his press conference.

“On paper, tomorrow’s game is beyond our reach, but mentality is everything. We know Inter are a great team who are getting excellent results, but we have to focus on ourselves, going to Milan convinced we will put in a strong performance.

“We have done quite well since returning from the lockdown and are unbeaten, but it could’ve been more. It’s important that we face every opponent with respect, but no fear.”

Brescia have fumbled more points from leading situations than any other club this season, including the two draws against Fiorentina and Genoa.

“We always seem to finish on the attack,” argues Lopez. “We had the strength to get back on track and push Genoa back even after they equalised. We pushed in Florence and had a chance right at the end there, too.”

Brescia squad for Inter: Joronen, Sabelli, Mateju, Tonali, Gastaldello, Spalek, Zmrhal, Donnarumma, Torregrossa, Andrenacci, Ghezzi, Aye, Mangraviti, Skrabb, Viviani, Martella, Dessena, Semprini, Bjarnason, Papetti
