“I have positive sensations. The training retreat allowed us to improve many things, including the rapport between the lads. We’ve worked well and there is a strong sense of responsibility,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“Empoli maintained the same style of football after their promotion to Serie A and it allowed them to control the tempo even against big clubs like Roma and Milan. They have a smart passing game, even in tight spaces.

“This is going to be a tough match for us and we’ve got to make them feel uncertain in possession. Joel Campbell has a bit of jet-lag, while Camillo Ciano has recovered and is available. Emil Hallfredsson and Stipe Perica are out, along with long-term absentees Luca Paganini and Federico Dionisi. We’ll have to wait and see about Luka Krajnc, as he had a knock to the head on international duty.

“We need enthusiasm from the fans, especially in a head-to-head for position like this. We’ve got to get them passionate about the match.

“We’ve had some good performances lately and if we continue like that, the results will arrive sooner or later. I am happy that the President backed me and can learn a lot from him, as we discuss the situation every day.”
