Milan confirm Ruben Loftus-Cheek has chosen the No.8 following Sandro Tonali’s move to Newcastle.
The Rossoneri announced the signing of the English midfielder last week, days before Tonali’s transfer to St. James’ Park, confirmed this past Monday.
Milan had not announced Loftus-Cheek squad No. last week, waiting for Tonali’s move. The Serie A giants have now revealed that their new midfielder will wear the No.8 which previously belonged to his predecessor at the Stadio Meazza.
The announcement was made through their official Twitter and Instagram accounts.
The Rossoneri saluted Tonali with a brief statement on Monday, while the Italy international shared a lengthy Instagram post with messages for the club and the fans admitting that he’d like to return to Milan one day.
Tonali scored seven goals in 130 appearances with the Rossoneri, winning the Serie A title in 2021-22.
RLC scored 13 goals in 155 Chelsea games winning five trophies, including one Premier League title and one Europa League.
