According to several reports in Italy, Juventus will meet Sassuolo to discuss Manuel Locatelli this week with the Italy international determined to snub Arsenal in favour of a move to Turin.

The 22-year-old has scored two goals at the Euros and Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali revealed last week the Bianconeri are the only Italian club interested in securing his services.

Arsenal have also placed a bid to sign the Italy starlet who, however, would prefer a move to the Allianz Stadium.

According to Sky Sport, La Gazzetta dello Sport and Calciomercato.com, Juventus and Sassuolo will meet again this week to discuss the player’s transfer.

The pink paper reports Juventus are open to matching Sassuolo’s €40m asking price, signing the player on loan with an obligation to buy.

On the other hand, Arsenal can afford to pay all €40m by the end of the year.

At this stage, the Gunners’ offer is surely more convenient for Sassuolo, but the club need to consider the player’s desire, which is to join Juventus.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Locatelli is ‘destined’ to sign with the Bianconeri and the Serie A giants will try to reach an agreement during this week’s meeting.
