Amid a Juventus midfield full of doubts and uncertainties, Manuel Locatelli continues to be the sole guarantee for Massimiliano Allegri.
The 24-year-old Italian midfielder joined the Bianconeri last summer from Sassuolo on a two-year loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy clause attached. Despite Juventus’ struggles in the first half of last season, Locatelli still looked like a quality midfielder and put in a number of good performances.
As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Locatelli seems to be the sole certainty for Allegri in the Juventus midfielder, with the department completely shrouded in doubt.
Paul Pogba is out for seemingly months with a knee injury, Arthur and Adrien Rabiot both seem set to depart soon, Denis Zakaria and Weston McKennie can also leave in the face of a decent offer and Nicolo Fagioli is still a relative unknown at the highest level.
Juventus are hoping to pick up Paris Saint-Germain’s Leandro Paredes to give Allegri another reliable option in the midfield, but first they need to finalise the departure of Arthur.
Zakaria and Fagioli are also pretty good. Who writes these articles ?
Rovella is also doing pretty well in these friendlies and I can see him staying in the team. He seems ready. Zak and McKennie are going nowhere. Sure, they aren’t “must keep” players and they will probably be sold in the next 2-3 years but not now. Rabiot and Artur are the first ones to be kicked out.
@Mike
It says fagioly is unknown in highest level and he is right ,Fabiola played well last season in serie b and in a friendly match ,do you think it’s enough for playing in CL?
This is article is being overly generous in terms of his performances. He hasn’t exactly shown and he’s playing for manager who wants his midfielders to all play deep in their own goal for 90 mins.
Locatelli would be a better player as of now if he’d stayed at Milan and fought for his place.
As for me this guy is a waste in this juve team
Just send him back to where’ he came from
He’s useless
