It kicks off on Wednesday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT) in Vilnius.

The Azzurri started their World Cup 2022 qualifying campaign with 2-0 victories over both Northern Ireland and Bulgaria.

“It won’t be an easy match tomorrow,” warned the Sassuolo midfielder in his press conference.

“We’re up against a strong Lithuania side, but we know what to do, we’ll study them even more carefully this evening and go out there to win.”

Locatelli featured in both games, scoring in Bulgaria, and has emerged as the alternative to Jorginho in the Italy 4-3-3.

“Many things have happened in recent years, so from the great disappointment of missing the 2018 World Cup, we had this great rebirth.

“I want to enjoy this moment, but also keep my feet on the ground and never stop improving.”

Although he was a Milan youth product, Locatelli admits his career has gone from strength to strength at Sassuolo.

“Coach De Zerbi was fundamental for me, as he helped me to mature on a football level, but I have also changed as a man. I am more aware of my capabilities now.”
