Juventus are planning Manuel Locatelli’s medical for tomorrow and hope to play him in the Serie A season opener against Udinese this weekend, it’s reported.
Multiple sources including Sky, Sportitalia, the Gazzetta dello Sport and more are confident today that a deal has been struck with Sassuolo for the midfielder.
It is a two-year loan with obligation to buy that is activated by their first point in the 2021-22 campaign, for a cost of €30m plus bonuses reaching €35m.
Sassuolo could also retain a 20 per cent cut of any future transfer fee.
Now those same sources maintain a medical has been scheduled in Turin for tomorrow morning.
Juventus hope they can register Locatelli in time for him to play in the opening Serie A game of the season against Udinese.
Sassuolo are making a tidy profit too, as they purchased Locatelli from Milan for just €14m in 2019.
He started in the Atalanta youth academy, switching to the Milan version in 2010.

Great .. Hope he plays the opening match 👊🍀
Lord Cherubini will prove to be a disaster if straightforward deals like this is so difficult for him to pull off.
