Stanislav Lobotka’s agent, Branislav Jarusek, reveals he has spoken to Barcelona director Deco and coach Xavi about the Napoli midfielder, who would like to join a club that fight for the Champions League.
Barcelona coach Xavi said earlier this month that he’d bring Lobotka to the club and the midfielder’s agent has confirmed talks with the La Liga giants in an interview with Slovakian reporters.
“Lobotka like to play for a club that fight to win the Champions League. He is 30 so if he gets an irrefutable offer, we’ll discuss it with the club,” said the midfielder’s representative as quoted by TuttoNapoli.
“We spoke about it with Deco. Barcelona would sign him, but many things must happen. Stanislav sent me a screenshot of what Xavi said about him. I sent him one showing the many times we spoke about him, because he [Xavi] often asks me about Lobotka.”
The representative of the 30-year-old midfielder added that his client had received offers from the Saudi Pro League last summer, but he want to stay in Europe to play in the Champions League.
Barcelona have eliminated the Partenopei from Europe’s elite competition this season, beating them 4-2 on aggregate in the Round of 16.
Lobotka has made 40 appearances with Napoli this season, providing one assist. He will turn 30 on November 25. His contract with Napoli runs out in 2027, but the club hold an option to extend for one more season.
