There were reports today that the midfielder was struggling so badly that he had to be taken to the Ruesch clinic in Naples.
A statement from the club this evening confirms that is true, but that it was only a visit with the specialists and he has been sent home already.

“We wish to clarify that Stanislav Lobotka had complications from exudative tonsillitis and this morning had an abscess drained on his tonsils.
“He has already returned to his home.”
Once the inflammation has subsided, it is possible Lobotka will have his tonsils removed, as this is not the first time the 26-year-old Slovakia international has struggled with this condition.
