Livorno will cease to exist on June 30 if their planned takeover does not go through, President Aldo Spinelli has warned.
Spinelli sold Livorno to Dutch businessman Majd Yousif on February 6, which appeared to mark the end of his two-decade-long tenure as the club’s owner.
However, the deal coincided with the outbreak of coronavirus in Italy and the 80-year-old claims he has not heard from Yousif since.
“I haven’t heard anything from Yousif,” he told Corriere dello Sport.

“I haven’t heard anything from Yousif,” he told Corriere dello Sport.
“If this deal is still up in smoke on June 30, I’ll close the doors and give Mayor Salvetti the keys.
“I won’t register Livorno for next season.”
Spinelli then explained how he would go about resuming the Serie B season.
“If the campaign resumes, I’ll tell all the Presidents to go play in the south, where the virus isn’t spreading.
“Livorno are ready to do so by booking a hotel in Reggio Calabria. Of course, there must be contributions from the league and confirmation that there’s no risk [of catching the virus] from the health commission and government.
“A club President can’t take civil and criminal responsibility to send their team on to the field.”
