Livorno “are very close to an agreement” with Inter for young starlets Francesco Bardi and Marco Benassi.

President Aldo Spinelli confirmed the negotiations are at an advanced stage for the newly-promoted club.

“My men are working in Milan as we speak,” said Spinelli on Tuttob.com.

“We like Bardi and Benassi a great deal and we are very close to an agreement.”

Under-21 international goalkeeper Bardi was a key figure in the side that reached the European Championship Final earlier this month.

He spent last season on loan at Novara, but the 21-year-old is now set for a Serie A experience at Livorno.

Benassi is a central midfielder who impressed in 13 games for the senior Inter side this term, scoring a Europa League goal.

He only turned 19 last month and is an Under-19 international for Italy.

Inter already released two Under-21 Italy stars, as Giulio Donati was sold to Bayer Leverkusen and Luca Caldirola to Werder Bremen for a combined €5m.
