The club has been in serious trouble even before its relegation from Serie B over the summer.

President Navarra and club owner Aldo Spinelli have managed to keep them afloat this far, but needed new investors today and received no reply.

“We have already called a board meeting and tomorrow I will do what ever President would in these circumstances: hand over the books to the bankruptcy tribunal,” Navarro told Tuttomercatoweb.

“Time is up, nobody paid, there is no money, Spinelli talks and that’s all he does. There’s no point if everyone suddenly steps forward two days from now.

“I will hand over the books, so they can ascertain who is at fault. I will not resign and I won’t be anyone’s puppet. It’s over.”

Livorno are due to go bankrupt and their players could be released as free agents later this month.
