Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is attracting a lot of attention with his performances for Morocco at the World Cup, with Liverpool reportedly leading the way.

The 26-year-old has been instrumental in sending Morocco top of their group and into the Round of 16 in Qatar, where they will face Spain on Tuesday December 6.

Morocco beat Belgium 2-0 and Canada 2-1 after an initial 0-0 draw against Croatia.

According to Sky Sports Deutschland transfer expert Florian Plettenburg, several Premier League clubs are keeping a close eye on Amrabat, but Liverpool are by far the favourites.

There are no negotiations yet, but Amrabat would be open to offers and currently earns €3m per season plus bonuses.

Fiorentina have said they do not intend to sell, especially in the January transfer window, but any bid would have to be well over €30m.

They paid nearly €20m to sign him from Hellas Verona in January 2020, leaving him at the Stadio Bentegodi on loan for the rest of that season.

He struggled at first to adapt to life with the Viola jersey, but has flourished this term under coach Vincenzo Italiano.

His contract runs to June 2024 and there is already an option to extend for another season.
