Milan are reportedly in advanced talks with Divock Origi and the Liverpool striker has given the green light for a move to San Siro as a free agent.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan director Paolo Maldini is an admirer of the Belgium international who sees his contract expire at the end of the season. The Serie A giants have opened talks with the Origi’s entourage and the player is open to moving to San Siro.

Origi has scored five goals in 14 appearances with Liverpool this season, including one against Milan in a Champions League group stage game. The striker is ‘fascinated’ by joining the Rossoneri but has also received offers from the Premier League.

The Belgium international will decide his future in the coming weeks, but he’s become one of the main targets to strengthen Milan’s attack in 2022-23. It remains to be seen what Origi’s move to Milan would mean for Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the Swede’s contract with the Rossoneri runs out in the summer. Ibra is the highest earner at the club with a €7m-a-year salary but has been struggling with injuries this season.

  1. Milan director Paolo Maldini is an admirer of the Belgium international who sees his contract expire at the end of the season.
That is why. Mr. Di Milan, please don’t become then new Adriano Galliani

  2. Getting him on a free seems to me like a shrewd piece of business. We might then have Zlatan, Giroud, Origi and Lezetic + backup in Rebic for the striker position. I also believe I’ve seen Origi being deployed on the flanks too. Milan really need to focus on right wing as their main attacking contributions comes from the left flank. Also replacing Kessie and Romagnoli

  3. @mailnawizz ,we have a good winger in the person of saelemaekers but why the coach refuses to use him is what I don’t know.

  4. If Kalulu and Tomori keep going the way they’re going we don’t need to worry about a CB so can focus on replacing Kessie and an attacker.

Origi is not a bad signing but we really do need someone who take us to the next level and I’m not sure it’s him.

  5. @Toni, saelemaekers is solid, however not as much a threat in front of goal. Someone like Leao, Mbappe or the equivalent are far more dangerous and can cause more trouble. Berardi sure has scored quite a few goal against Milan, maybe he is the man who can score some for Milan on the right.

  6. Saelmaekers is NOT solid – what games are you watching? He’s a rotational piece at best. Messias should return back to where he came from. RT wing needs to be as deadly as Theo/Leao on the LT. Origi is not a bad move, especially on a free transfer.

  7. Origi is a decent option, as is Belotti. Don’t think we need both, especially if Zlatan is staying another year. Giroud has been good so far and Rebic and even Leao can be emergency CFs if needed. Honestly, the RW is urgent. Berardi would be an important signing to really improve the team. A completely different level to Messias.
