“It was our best performance at the Stadio Via del Mare and I received the response I was looking for, even if the result didn’t go our way,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“If we play like this with our third game in a week and with players not at 100 per cent, it bodes well for the future. I take the positives from this game.

“Marco Mancosu was struggling with the heat after so many games close together. It was unthinkable he could play the second 45 minutes at the same level.

“The most disappointing thing about the game today is that we lacked determination on set plays. We conceded the goal when caught in possession, too.”
