Fabio Liverani takes responsibility for Parma’s 2-1 defeat to Crotone. ‘I didn’t expect a first half performance like that, so evidently it’s my fault.’
The Ducali were 2-0 down by half-time thanks to a pair of very well-taken Junior Messias strikes, then a Juraj Kucka header wasn’t enough to recover.

“We are not in a condition to rotate the squad and the players need to give a response when called upon. I feel bad, I am the one responsible, although objectively speaking we did have the chances to equalise.
“This game was lost in the first half, when we didn’t have the right hunger. Fortunately 2020 is over now, but our season is going to be one of suffering to the very end. We need the same determination we showed up until the Genoa game.
“Serie A has levelled off, anything can happen in any game and the clubs that changed a great deal are the ones that struggled the most, because there was effectively no pre-season training.”
Liverani is already looking forward to the January transfer window in order to resolve some Parma problems.
“I am happy with the squad in defence and midfield, but we are low on numbers in attack, so we need to do something.”
