Follow Luciano Spalletti’s first press conference as Italy coach live.

The 64-year-old has been appointed following Roberto Mancini’s sudden resignation at the end of August. Today, he will address the media in his first press conference as Italy coach.

Football Italia is among the accredited media at Coverciano to cover Spalletti’s words live.

The former Napoli boss released his first Italy squad on Friday, calling the likes of Nicolò Zaniolo and Wilfried Gnonto but snubbing veterans such as Leonardo Bonucci and Arsenal playmaker Jorginho.

We expect questions about his first choices as Italy boss, but also about his rapport with Aurelio De Laurentiis given that the Napoli President has insisted Spalletti or FIGC had to pay a release clause to free the coach from his agreement with the Partenopei.

Spalletti will make his debut as Italy’s coach on Saturday, September 9 in a 2024 EURO qualifier against North Macedonia. The second game is at San Siro against Ukraine on Tuesday, September 12.
