Empoli's Marko Livaja will meet his former team Inter on Wednesday: 'I have good memories with them, but now let's cause them trouble!'

The 22-year-old striker went through a complex transfer history, being purchased by Inter but then turned over temporarily to Cesena, and later again to Atalanta. After that he left Serie A, only to return this season on a loan from Rubin Kazan.

“With Inter I achieved the most important things when playing with the Primavera, under Andrea Stramaccioni,” he told PianetaEmpoli.it. “We even won the Scudetto.

“I left many friends in Milan. I remembed my debut with the senior team, but I have no regrets about the way things went. I needed to play and they had no space for me at the time, so we came to the decision of going to Atalanta.

“I'll always have good memories because the club was always available and honest with me.

“Against them I expect a good match. Both our teams play well and draw our strength from speed.

“They're the favourites on paper, as they have some great champions in the team, but we're a terrific team and I'm certain we'll play another important game, causing them a lot of trouble.

“For 2016 I just want to play and score, no more."

Finally Livaja was asked whether he'd like to move definitively from Rubin Kazan to Empoli.

“Yes, absolutely. I'm feeling really well here, I'm on good terms with my teammates, the city and the supporters.

“It's an environment where you work well and where you play football rigorously, but without excessive pressure.

“Moving here would be ideal for me, but for now I don't think about it, I'd rather focus on the present.”
