The Azzurri’s preparations for the tournament in Germany were rocked by the Calciopoli scandal that would eventually see Juventus” data-scaytid=”6″>Juventus demoted to Serie B.

This time Italy are dealing with a betting scandal that included a police dawn raid on the Coverciano training ground to serve Domenico Criscito with a notice of investigation.

“It reminds me of those days in 2006,” current manager of Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande Lippi told TG1.

“I think as soon as the Nazionale sets off for Poland, they will think only about football, training and the Euros.

“The advice I give to Prandelli and the players is to stay calm and focus only on Euro 2012. I remember that week leading up to the tournament at Coverciano wasn’t easy for us either.”

Prandelli had stated this week he was prepared to pull Italy out of the competition if it would help the investigation.

“It was a phrase set to provoke,” noted Lippi.
